The Association of Hispanic Alumni
fundraises and donates over $10,000 a year
for the past two years
which fund student scholarships and programs
at the University of Florida.

AHA's Donations
With proceeds collected from the Gator Guayabera Guateque each year, the Association of Hispanic Alumni donates to the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Cultures to fund student scholarships.

In it's first year, the AHA donated $10,000 to the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Cultures. Six student scholarships were awarded from that money in the total amount of $5,000. The second year (2005), the Alumni were able to raise $18,500, almost doubling their previous year's success, $10,000 of which was used for 10 student scholarships.

At last years Gator Guayabera Guateque (2006) almost 700 “Guatequeros” raised over $43,000 in scholarship monies which is being used to fund approximately 13 scholarships for University of Florida students that participate in activities of the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Culture “La Casita”.
